How Often Do You Change Your .....

For those thinking of getting new aircon for your rooms, check out on some electrical shops that will buy back your old aircon set when you purchase a new one from them..

I'm thinking of spending 700+ to buy a portable one. Dunno if it's good.

hi there

1. bro, the happycall pan is some korean product.
2. yes, it is pretty good for pan fry items.

Hi bro, I did a check and it seems that there are some good deals online for it. Not expensive also. I think little tigress will like it. Other women collect handbags and shoes, she like to collect pots and pans :o

Not sure about the portable ones.. Last year when I just moved to my flat, we already had all 3 bedrooms and the living room fitted with GE aircon by the previous owner.. The aircon set was already more than 6 yrs old.. The previous owner kindly warned us that the aircon in 2 of the rooms were quite faulty..

I then decided to check around for a new aircon set.. Went to Best Connection, Courts.. But their prices were quite expensive for their Panasonic set.. Then luck was on my side when on the way to Sim Lim, saw this old electrical shop near Veerasamy Rd.. Went there and saw promotion banner outside their shop.. They'll buy back the old aircon set of any brands for $300 to $400 if you purchase a new aircon from them.. I then purchased a Panasonic aircon for my 3 rooms and decided not to install an aircon in the living room since I smoke quite often while watching TV there..

Cost me around 2K including installations for the new Panasonic after they took my old GE aircon for $350..

In other stores like Best Connection, it costs 2.4K for a similiar Panasonic model..

Thanks brother Zeddy. I will check out the shop this week. Little tigress already complain at night very hot cannot sleep :D

Bro you can also try goin to Goh Ah Bee shop at Hougang St 21.. Recomended to me by my new neighbours when I just moved to Hougang.. Its a small neighbourhood electrical store.. Friendly staff and good service.. They quite well known among Hougang residents due to their cheap electrical items.. Bought 2 TVs there and few items for the kitchen..

I knew this shop. Bought a cooker hood from them about 2 yrs back. the next day, saw an advert on paper by the distributor for the same model at about $100 cheaper. Call the shop and was told he didn't know of the promotion and no refund. I would think the shop would have been aware of the promotion even if its one day before.

Do check around before buying.

Wah.. Didn't know of this.. Bought 2 TVs from them, a microwave and few other smaller items.. Think I got a good deal for all of the items.. But then few months later saw the similiar TV set that I bought selling for slightly lower price at Gain City.. Went to Goh Ah Bee again to jalan jalan and found that they also matched Gain City's price.. Maybe I was too impatient and too eager to get all things ready for my new flat..:o

Own one long ago. No good:
1. Need cover one window with "plywood with hole" to let hot air out
2. Noisy
3. Need check water level
4. When not in use - need to store somewhere

Plus point
1. Can operate anywhere in the house

Not sure of new portable airon

Surprise surprise, my brother bought some electrical stuffs there and he told me its cheaper. He is someone who will compare and compare before buying the final item.

Thanks Yanzi. I heard about the need to leave a hole at the window also. It's bloody freaking hot suddenly the past few days. I'm almost melting under the sun today. Then suddenly go up the aircon bus blasting at full power. :(

goh ah bee had been at HG st 21 since mata wear short. They do sell at a lower price than most electric appliances store BUT i still recommend guys to go around to match price. Especially now court claim to be the cheapest, so just inform them goh ah bee price and courts have to match it. sometime goh ah bee this type of operation also not entirely honest, their selling price maybe cheaper but they may not inform the buyer of the freebies that the manufacturer throw in to sweeten the deal, sometime the cunt vouchers were not given to the customers. if there big ticket items, i will ask around goh ah bee type of shop for price then go best denki to squeeze the saleman to match price and free delivery, somemore can earn credit card points.

Finally, the gas tank finished last night. Ordered a new tank today. $31.50 for 12.7kg from Union gas. Let's see how long a full tank can last.

Thanks brother. It is warm air. So it confirm my suspicion that it's a gas leak. I am reluctant to change not because of the money but because the previous owner covered the pipes linking the rooms very nicely. To change the aircon would mean that I have to make a big mess at the walls again. I try to take a pic for you to see tmr.

Use a naked flame & search for the gas leak, if you are able to post here & inform us, it is not a gas leak, then IT IS NOT?. Call the LPG company, send pne of their guys over to the check whatever needed to be checked.

I have bought from Goh Ah Bee for a refrigerator, checked around, Best, Harvey Norman, Courts etc..and found their prices better, like you say check the freebies also!, service was reasonable. They used to be very 'hao dai' for they were the only ELECTRICAL store in that part of the world. One of the dying retail stores for Fridge etc.. I use to shop around for a few in the past, one in AMK Avenue 4, EverJoint, there was one at , near to Junction of Kitchener Rd/Jalan Besar, the two shops along Jln Bukit Merah, block 119? Alexandra Village & one at Shaw Shopping Centre ( wonder if they are still there).

Depends on what your budget, reliability of shop & speed of delivery, for example you want name Brands like Miele, Westinghouse etc..the Shaw Centre one, delivery time reliablity etc., the rest budget & shop for the best!. Sometimes Harvey Norman, Best etc.. have good deals, but check around first.
