How many sinkees can afford this bill for 4-day stay in hospital?

Okay lah, two week holiday to Tasmania cost $6,500 all in. So, she just sacrifice 1.5 holiday in order to save her life. Doctors charge on the basis of the patient’s ability to pay and desperation to live - an ideal profession for extortionists.

4-day stay to check on persistent fever and rashes. Those can't be done without staying in hospital?

If I not mistaken, the kantang ah lian is a Malaysian. Not sure still PR or already sumpar for pink ID.

She chose to stay at a private hospital based on her doctor's recommendation - he probably has a practice or privileges there.
Room rate is $708-$898 - $5+K for tests and shit not unheard of - especially when private doctors run a battery of more expensive panels unlike Public hospital subsidized fee..
BTW you look at her Interim bill you can see it mention AXA Shield Plan (probably A) which covers private hospitalization
The Integrated Shield Plan means she is fully covered for treatment there with/without co-payment.
If she had insured herself before Mar 2018 no need to co-pay.
If not a 5% co-payment applies.
