"The  Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) hosts hundreds of lifts of  different makes and specifications such as Otis, 9G, Mitsubishi, Sigma,  EM, Dong Yang, Express and Fujitec, amongst others.
 While all these  lifts are routinely maintained at least once a month, AHTC has  instructed its lift maintenance contractors to carry out a special check  of all our lifts to assess if a similarly unfortunate incident, like  that which occurred in Jurong recently, could take place in Aljunied-Hougang town. These checks are slated to be completed by next week.
