Home Security

Is it ever gonna be enough?

To me, yes, why not?

We are deterring human thieves, not Superman nor Supernatural.
And it's not like we are a billionaire family and our house is the one and only target the thieves(or kidnapper in this case) want.
These house-break thieves choose the easiest target and there'll always be easier targets as long as you keep yours secured even with one or two safety measures.

Singapore: The police also reported that there has been a spike in housebreaking at private residential units island-wide.

To ensure that you are not a victim of such a crime, the police suggested installing close-shackled padlocks on all windows and doors and securing them when leaving the home unattended.

They also suggested installing a burglar alarm, motion sensor light and/or close circuit surveillance camera to cover the access points.

Stay in condo safer?

To me, it's not whether it's landed or condo. It's how high-end the security system for the whole compound is. Most condos have very simple fencing without surveillance cameras nor sensors and burglars or robbers can easily climb over and ambush you at the car park or lift. For high-end condos with high tech fencing and security systems, it won't be easy for intruders to do that. Of course nothing can ensure 100% safety but such systems are in place to deter intruders. Potential intruders would also rather choose an easier target.
