Home Ministry declares 23 gangs illegal
PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry has declared 23 secret societies as illegal for activities such as drug dealing, prostitution, gambling, luxury car theft, extortion, gangland fights and leaking sensitive information on the authorities under the Section 5 (1) of the Societies Act.
“It is under the purview of the minister to declare a society illegal.
“Therefore, the ministry criminalises any organisations that are believed to be detrimental to public safety,” the ministry said in a statement.
Any use of names, symbols, logos or any secret societies’ insignia are also deemed illegal, the ministry said.
The groups are:

4. Geng Chong Woh
5. Geng Gee Long San
6. Geng Gee It Leng
7. Geng Gee Hon San
8. Geng Guat Sam Sia
9. Geng It Tiam Ang

11. Geng Ang Mor Low
12. Geng Sio Or Leng
13. Geng Loong Foo Thong
14. Geng 969 (Kow Lak Kow)
15. Geng 32 Sar Jee
16. Geng Chaun San
17. Geng Fong Hong San
18. Geng Jin Jee Tong
19. Geng Gee Lam Kok
