有傳陳同佳願意赴台灣自首。
觸發港府修訂《逃犯條例》的台灣殺人案疑犯港人陳同佳，有傳將於下周三(23日)因洗黑錢案刑滿出獄，有消息指陳在牧師勸服下同意獲釋後赴台灣自首，但希望台灣當局不判處死刑，台灣方面的律師早前曾來港與陳商討案情，並向陳講解台灣法律及監獄情況。今年7月曾到壁屋監獄探望陳的立法會議員蔣麗芸表示，有牧師一直與陳接觸，「用語言感化佢係好事！」估計牧師很快會代表陳作詳細交代。
有指陳同佳的父親最初擔心兒子自首或會被台灣判處死刑，惟經過多次與律師和兒子傾談後，亦同意自首的決定。陳出獄後將與家人短暫相聚，然後赴台自首，惟確定日期待定。陳希望對死者潘曉穎的父母致歉，冀獲得原諒。
曾探望獄中陳同佳的蔣麗芸今早(18日)接受東網查詢，未有正面確認陳將會赴台自首的消息。她稱最後決定應由當事人回應，相信很快會清楚去向。她指每個人都會做錯事，只要有悔改都應給予重生的機會；每個人亦應承擔法律後果。
她個人認為，陳的決定是對死者及其家人作了「答覆」。但他的決定如何，與目前政府面對的問題無關，修例風波是政治及社會問題所引發。
