【星島日報報道】(星島日報報道)路政署及港鐵向灣仔區議會交代沙中線港島段的最新工程進展,因應會展站工程中早前曾至少兩次發現戰時炸彈,當局最新計畫以機械挖掘方式,取代本來預料以爆破方式進行的工序。當局承認,該變動會令工程時間延長,從而影響工程進度,但強調仍會維持二○二一年通車的目標。文件又披露,自去年九月復工後,沒有再發現沉降監測點有達到停工指標,但六個監測點就有更改預設指標。
沙中線紅磡至金鐘段工程,去年先後三度於前港灣道體育館及前灣仔游泳池範圍進行挖掘時,發現三個重達千磅、並具有威力的戰時炸彈。根據港鐵及路政署向灣仔區議會提供的工程進度資料,以上曾發現炸彈的風險區域挖掘工作已完成。至於近菲林明道工地的挖掘工程,工程團隊已實施額外的預防措施,並正繼續採用「監控式開挖」進行工程,以應付潛在的風險,預料今年上半年會完成所有大型挖掘。

另一方面,港鐵及路政署稱,自沙中線會展站地盤挖掘工程去年九月復工後,沒有再發現沉降達到需要暫停工程的預設工程指標,但有三個監測點本身只沉降不足十毫米的預設標準,被分別放寬至五十、七十及九十毫米。另有三個監測點就因路面要重新鋪設,而要重新設定。
