天水圍驚現「憤怒鳥」空襲途人！一種名為「紅嘴藍鵲」的雀鳥，近月疑在嘉湖山莊樹上築巢，且數量大增，不時低飛俯衝從後襲擊居民頭部及肩膀，次數頻繁，更有三個月嬰兒頭部慘被抓出血痕需召救護車，導致人心惶惶。街坊批評漁農自然護理署「低能忠告」，呼籲居民避免與雀鳥眼神接觸，惟途人根本不會和空中的雀鳥對望，忠告無助解決人雀衝突。區議員指一個月內已收到逾五百宗投訴，漁護署責無旁貸，但僅官僚地處理危機，提出不切實際建議。
出現「雀患」的美湖居，位於嘉湖山莊最北面，鄰近香港濕地公園。紅嘴藍鵲身形較為龐大，擁有紅色的嘴及腳，披上一身藍色羽毛，尾巴甚長，尾羽呈白色及有黑白間紋，估計身長連尾巴長近六十厘米。據了解，紅嘴藍鵲在屋苑已存在多年，因外表美麗，甚得居民歡心。但今年雀量由以往的兩、三隻增至約十多隻，且愈來愈有攻擊性，居民經過時不時被抓，有少女、小童更被嚇至大驚失色。
一個月逾五百宗投訴 街坊惶恐
居民鄭女士指，日前手抱三個月大嬰兒經過美湖居第四座對出時，被雀鳥突襲嚇至大哭，頭頂後腦位置被抓傷，留下一吋半長血痕，需召救護車清洗傷口。屋苑內激活幼稚園暨幼兒園校長范舒喆指，一個多星期前接獲多名家長報稱被紅嘴藍鵲俯衝襲擊，擔心學童被襲受傷，管理處及後借出大傘，學校亦向家長發通告提防，希望漁護署在不殺害雀鳥前提下，保護學生及家長安全。
區議員李月民亦指，一個月前開始接獲街訪舉報受雀鳥襲擊，近一周襲擊次數趨頻繁，範圍包括美湖居正門、候車站、幼稚園及龍園1區，範圍廣泛，街坊惶恐憂心。他一個月已收到逾五百宗投訴，包括嬰兒被抓傷的嚴重個案。管理公司應漁護署要求，前日封閉幼稚園面向美湖居一段小徑，並張貼漁護署上周二（9日）發出的傳真及電郵，呼籲居民避免穿鮮色衣物、以及與雀鳥有眼神接觸，亦可打開雨傘及戴帽遮擋。

李指街坊普遍支持人雀共融，但漁護署作為全港最權威動物專家部門，未有藉此機會落區推廣，教導市民正確處理方式，反而只是官僚地向管理公司發信，提出不切實際建議，擔心會引起民憤及不便，將怨氣轉投至雀鳥身上。李勸喻行經雀巢的市民盡量降低聲浪，及為抱有嬰兒的市民預備雨傘。
香港觀鳥會總經理羅偉仁指，紅嘴藍鵲是本港常見鴉科雀鳥，較為聰明，分布於市區公園、鄉郊以及新市鎮，數量近年趨多。他指一般動物及雀鳥繁殖時，會較容易作出保護行為，但過往甚少聽聞紅嘴藍鵲襲擊人類，繁殖期過後雀鳥會飛走，呼籲市民暫時避免走進該範圍。
漁護署發言人稱，每年春、夏季是本港大部分野鳥繁殖季節，期間野鳥會為保護自己鳥蛋或幼鳥，而飛近或輕碰接近鳥巢的途人以示驅趕，這情形屬暫時性，幼鳥離巢後情況會改善。該署早前已派員到場視察，並向市民及機構提供建議。
