HK activists protest before Singapore Consulate

Representatives of a labour union in Hong Kong staged a protest Wednesday in front of the Singapore Consulate there to demand the release of a bus driver from China jailed for starting an "illegal strike".

Hongkee eat full nothing to protest.....china bus driver jailed in sin also their biz....why don't they also protest for the dead dophin, protest against the egypt president, protest against Syria president killing own citizens etc...

HK activists are fucking hypocrites. They let their own people to treat the PRCs in HK like locus and now they want us to treat them well? If they are so concern about those PRC drivers, why not get them to drive their buses? Just another bunch of hypocrites juggling for publicity.

HK activists stage protest; call for release of SMRT bus drivers

HONG KONG - Activists from the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions are calling for the release of the former SMRT bus drivers detained for going on an illegal strike in Singapore last week.
The group of about 20 protesters congregated in front of the Singapore Consulate office in Admiralty and have passed a petition letter to an official from the consulate.
The group's leader Lee Cheuk Yan accused Singapore of not respecting international labour standards that allow workers to strike and that call for equal standards for migrant workers.

These jokers are stupid. There will be no release of the jailed bus driver until the term is full.
It is true that China workers are abused in hk factories n Chinese are chased out of their lands in land grand. Why these jokers don't dare to protest?

Kinana, not really.

Singapore buyers of Lehman Bros minibonds from DBS Singapore gets nothings - ZERO. All their savings simply vanished into the thin air.

Hong Kong activitists have balls to protest. As a result, DBS Hong Kong paid both the original investment and interest to 60% of the customer who bought them, giving DBS the distinction of the highest repayment ratio!

They are not stupid. Protest is good. They get the results they wanted. :) ;)

In this case, the protest sent a solid message that such bullying of workers, (the one sided time schedule, the lower per hour wage, the poor living conditions of the dorm, the bugs infested bed etc etc) are not condoned.

Unlike you, who meekly accepts the rubbish that have been shafted down your throat and happily lapping it up.

Where is Bro Tonychat?? :p :D

Covered in ST as well. Shouldn't they be using TCJ's photo instead of LHL?

......

So Vichy WP has also decided to subcontract the job of “First World Opposition” to Foreign Talent in HK.

But the problem for Vichy WP is that: by subcontracting the job of “First World Opposition” to HK FT, these FT would ultimately stand up and fight for their very own FT bus drivers, first and foremost.

After being ruthlessly abandoned and long forgotten by our very own Vichy WP “Co-Drivers”, could the HK FT “First World Opposition” please also be kind enough and generous enough to be standing up and speaking up for our very own Singaporean bus drivers who have also been bullied by SMRT into submission…..if they are also very, very, very free? So that the rest of the world would also know that Singaporean bus drivers are also as much exploited as foreign one?

HK FT “First World Opposition”, please help us to protest for our very own Singaporean SMRT bus drivers….Thank you…..Terima kasih….… நன்றி.....唔该晒….

1. Have you heard of "remission for good behaviour". I believe you only serve 2/3 of the term if you don't misbehave.

2. "Land grab" and not "land grand" - learn how to spell properly. Spelling is more than just "advise" vs "advice" and "loose" vs "lose".

3. HK activists protest about many things in China and pick the issues - have you not heard of June 4th rally (Tiananmen massacre if you don't know what that date means); Ai Wei Wei; the dissident who was "suicided" in hospital; the blind dissident who escaped into the US embassy recently; etc.

You must read more to improve your knowledge of current affairs, otherwise you will end up being an embarassment to yourself as well as your CUNTrymen, not to mention tarnish the image of the brigade. :D:p

why in HK ?

China Not Interested or what ?

There are too many spontaneous "mass incidents" in mainland China.

Even those protests engineered by the Chinese Govt e.g. anti-Jap over Diaoyu islands, anti-US over accidental bombing of Belgrade embassy, etc can easily get out of hand and then the Govt there has to spend yet more resources to rein those in.

China Govt is like PAP - wayang only - not interested in welfare of the masses, only in lining their own pockets.

Exactly.

Meek SG investors who lost money and have no balls to protest got what they deserved - zero compensation.

Why DBS has double standards between HK and SG? 'Cos it knows that it is dealing with different calibre of customers.

Watch below video for a protest that got results.

They may not be good friends, but HK people know that what happens in PRC will eventually affect them. They protest against what happens in PRC not 'cos they like PRC people but 'cos they know that any gross violations of human rights that are allowed to fester in PRC will eventually come to HK. This is called "enlightened self interest". It is something that Sinkies have a huge deficiency in. Pointless explaining to these daft Sinkies, only get a blank look in return. And if these daft jokers say anything, it will be something like "what about my lift upgrading?":p

Publicity is good, it helps your cause and shapes perceptions.
