At the start of the Korean War, the American soldiers were given orders to assume that anyone they see in Korea is the enemy, and to shoot to kill, including unarmed civilians, women and children.
In an interview, a retired US soldier, who arrived just after the massacre, still remembers seeing over 300 civilian corpses, including women and children, and especially indelible in his memory is his seeing a few months old crying baby still trying to suckle at the breast of the dead young mother.
