The whole fucking problem of road hogging by those vans, pickups and mini-buses is because of the cock up regulations by LTA. These useless government bastards enforce a speed limit on lorries and trailers at 60km/h and hence those driving with 70km/h speed limit have no patience to tail behind them. Hence, they will tend to wander into their next right lane and remain thereafter, thus causing unnecessary road hogging on the expressways.

Those bastards at LTA should have make up their mind and impose a common speed limit of either 60km/h or 70km/h for heavy and light goods vehicles and there will then be cohesion for them to travel on the leftmost lane.

I'd never respect those bastards at LTA. Some of their rules and regulations are totally redundant and nonsensical. Examples are those GIVE WAY TO BUSES AT BUS STOPS. This is the most idiotic rule and no other country in this planet has it except Sinkie Land. To those unaware, by stopping to deliberately give way to a bus leaving a bus stop will cause unnecessary rear ending by several vehicles just behind that bloody bus. To make matters worse, many of those bloody bus drivers today take for granted that all vehicles must give way to them when they exit their bus stops, regardless of whether there is such road markings at that particular bus stop.

Another fucking bad example by LTA is situating a bus stop so near to a road junction and at the same time imposing a bus lane on it. How they expect other vehicle drivers to overtake the bus and make a left turn safely, especially if the bus is just about to leave the bus stop? And if they were to follow up behind the bus, they risk getting booked for being in the bus lane. Fucking no brainer people at LTA and drawing exorbitant salaries. There are several of such situations along Orchard Road.

Yet another fucking bad example by LTA is imposing bus lanes along boundary roads. Many times during the peak hours, you can see many vehicles clogging in lanes 2 and 3 but with the bus lane practically empty. This is totally a waste of resources. I can agree if they impose bus lanes on roads in the CBD because there are many buses congregating, but not at (for example) Hougang Ave 3 when there are only 4 or 5 bus services utilizing that road and the frequency between each bus is in excess of 3 minutes. Those idiots at LTA and the TP are really useless regulators. I have no respect for these people.

I agree with you on the speed limit thing. Most people drive well above the speed limits, on the expressways and on city roads. If everyone were to observe the speed limits, there will be heavy traffic jams all round. If you observe heavy traffic jams during a road accident, very often the accident vehicle is off the road on the shoulder, people slow down to look which reduces the capacity of the road.

If heavy vechicle is adviced to keep to the left when travelling on the highway,LTA should stop motorcyclists from riding at the extreme outer lane.Please, LTA act before is too late

Why should motorcycles not be allowed on lane 1, especially if they are those 400cc and above models. Their speeds can easily keep up with the vehicular traffic on the expressways. Don't be such a snob. I trust you to realize that Sinkie Land doesn't belongs to you alone. I always abhor such acts of snobbishness by Sinkies. For your information, I do own a car and a 400cc bike as well.

The problem is not the skilled motorcyclists who ride at the correct speed to keep up with the traffic flow. The problem lies with the un-skilled motorcyclists who ride in the centre or the outermost overtaking lanes at 50-60 km/h*. Over the past 3 days alone, I have had to overtake lots of these guys when they slow expressway traffic to their 50-60 km/h pace. Difficult and dangerous for both overtaker(the car) and overtakee(the bike) when traffic is very heavy.

[*mostly, they seem to be middle-aged or senior-age battlers in some blue-collar type profession, like plumber, fitter, handyman, etc. No riding skill whatsoever. A danger to themselves and everybody else on the road!!!!]

In a 4-lane highway, the slowest lane is lane 4. One other question - where should motorbikes be traveling?

There was a time where motorbikes had to travel on the slow lane with the heavy vehicles on the expressway.this rule was not enforced due to the speed and size of the bikes.

Not only motorbike getting out of hand, cars too, front Blue LED Light, change headlamp to xeno lamp super bright to blind approaching
vehicles, small licence plate non complaince, very dark tinted window all over front back and windows, driving with very bright spot light on
trying to intimidate the front driver to get out of his way, sticker pasted all over like "tai ko" modified exhaust system very loud.

WRX already very fast car these Ah Beng modified to go even faster, saw one last week at TPE driving like F1 race track!!

BTW most of these small motorbike seem to cut the exhaust muffler/modified to make it extra loud, its very annoying even after
they past you kilometres ahead!
