SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a French woman for involvement in a case of shop theft at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.


On Jul 30, at around 11.07pm, the police received notification that a luxury ladies handbag was stolen.


The officers from Central Police Division subsequently conducted extensive investigation to trace the suspect's whereabouts.


Then, on Aug 19, at about 11pm, the officers arrested the female suspect at Changi International Airport and recovered the stolen handbag.

Investigations are still on-going.

Anyone convicted of the offence of Theft in Dwelling is liable to a maximum punishment of seven years' imprisonment and a fine.

recently also got one angmo auntie caught for stealing, sentence fine plus one day prison term. one day prison term only mean angmo wait at the sub court lockup until 5pm and be release after 5pm. so this frenchie shd also have the same treatment.

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 42-year-old French woman on suspicion of stealing a luxury handbag.

The police received a report of shop theft at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands on 30 July, where a luxury ladies' handbag had been stolen.

According to a statement from the Singapore Police Force, officers from Central Police Division immediately conducted extensive ground enquiries to trace the suspect's whereabouts.

On 19 Aug, 2012, the officers mounted an operation at Changi International Airport and arrested the female suspect. The stolen handbag was recovered.

Investigation into the case is on-going, the police say.

The offense of shop theft carries the maximum sentence of seven years' jail, and a fine.

The police advice retail outlets to properly secure their merchandise and goods on display to prevent shop theft.

nothing less than an hermes i am sure, for the police to mount an operation at changi.

i have not heard the police mounting an operation for a stolen gap bag.

moral of the story: steal something cheap.

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a French tourist who stole a handbag worth over S$30,000 from a shop at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

The 42-year-old woman was nabbed at the Changi Airport late Sunday night while trying to leave Singapore.

The stolen handbag was recovered from the suspect.

Police said it received a report of shop theft on 30 July.

The suspect faces up to seven years behind bars and a fine if convicted.

Police have advised retail shops to secure their merchandise properly to prevent theft.
