For me NTUC has improved by leaps and bounds.Still the supermarket of my choice. Lastime was cold storage, now NTUC!!!Fairprice Finest!!!

Why must it be an ALL or nothing proposition

We need more competition in the market & if we all only go to NTUC, there wouldn't be any competition left. Then we will probably see the business side of NTUC.

I predict behaviour like what we see with the PAP. When Sporeans gave the PAP 90+% of their support, it created the Lee dynasty We can see the outcome cronyism, multi-million salaries, trains breaking down, massive inflows of foreigners that don't benefit the "lesser mortals", etc

It would be smarter to give some support for alternatives because having monopolies in Spore is bad for "lesser mortals".

i always believe in competition becos you can chose the best price & best value, the main thing is you have a CHOICE even if you don't shop in Carrefour. without it the remaining few players in the business will have a greater control of the market & then everyone will have to buy at their price, got no choice. imagine there's only 1 supermarket chain & they dictate what you buy & at what price. now imagine GL only got 1 chicken house & 1 chicken got HIV..

if and only if the competition is real.
but in sinkieland , some companies like CUNT are given favouritism.

France didn't seem that broke to me, plenty people shopping, they still have 35hr week for civil serpents, restaurants were full in the cities, maybe some sectors are poorer without sakozy industrialist lobangs to korek but others were busy, you never know until you live there or ask someone from there, stats are for decorations in reports, the reality is sometimes very different! Politically it's going through a change & it's very quiet now as Hollande tries to find his feet.

Germany are working horse of Europe, as long as they keep up that mentality & work ethic, rain or shine they will come through OK. On the wider picture of the Euro, it's not in any European country or US or China to see it fail as there will be a domino effect, so they will por lumpah until the cows come home, difficult task but lets see what happens.
