HDB declares war on GMS

GMS, FYI, There was no mismatch of DEMAND and SUPPLY in 2007. Flats were there for the taking, but people were choosy about where they wanted to stay. In a way, the grant helped addressed this issue too. There were other reasons behind the initiative to offer grants and I can tell you that not all are related to $$$. See the conditions that have to be met before you are allowed the grant and you will understand what I mean.

You see, my learned GMS, you may look at things from a myopic $$$ perspective but you fail to see the overall broader picture. You think you are smart, I can tell you others are smarter and have foresight much, much more further than yours.

You are cocksure people will be burdened by the grant? I am one example to show you that with good proper planning and management of your funds and life, the grant is a godsend.
 
My message is simple, don't take poison as medicine.

I have explained, even with the grant, you are going to pay higher prices for a resale flat, as compared to New HDB flat at cost price. For every $10K difference in prices, you are going to be burdened more than $10k with interests.

Taking grant is taking poison. Taking 10k grant will cost 10k interest.

GMS is madman or not, you all be jury.
