been to this place and found it really happening!!

anyone wanna share their experiences there?

lianbeng was impressed by their housing style - up a slope.:D
legend says that there were originally 10 families on that slope and each family took turn to fetch water for all 9 other families, hence 9 portion or 九份, but some wise people had learned to connect pipes to the sea below liao.:D

was there once and the impression is so lasting.

what makes 九份老街 Jiu Fen Old Street so happening are the stalls, the unique little niffy coffeeshops and eateries. then it's the stall vendors who are very friendly and offer any passerbys with food, drinks and etc samplings. it's a great place for exploring, shopping, eating and of course the beautiful scenery.

九份老街 Jiu Fen Old Street actually sits on a sloppy moutain.

lianbeng adds, "意难忘 was shot at that location.":D

啊!。。。
情海波浪
真情沧桑

over here in singapore, i think the gov once tried out the idea using mt faber. but it failed miserably cos the things they sold there was like shits and damn expensive!

lianbeng replies leetahbar, "how can we compare with them? everything we tried to copy failed! mrt is a good example.":D

next happening place was YANG MIN SHAN where the natural hotspring there was really fantastic! u just need to pay like NT50 per hour to use it. i remember pleasantly when i was there once and becos there wasn't much of a crowd then the lady boss invited me to use the pte personal hotspring with built in shower, toiletries and a jacuzzi with controlled temperature for the hotspring water with cold water.

it was lovely! the pte room came with a paranormic view of the mountain.

taiwan mrt is so user friendly unlike here where commuters got to queue up just to retrieve their $1 deposit for the farecard wasting time for many tourists. in taiwan, just slip in the farecard, retrieve and take the train. when reach, alight and slot in the farecard, gate opens and off u go.

lianbeng adds, "they are not in a hurry to close doors and speed off - they take their own sweet time to make sure u board safely and even courteously extends their warm welcome with open palm gestures and sweet smiles. here everyone is rushing - our train doors close as soon as opened.":D

Taiwan breakfast is very boring, always just porridge or floury cakes with a little of this or that. No match for Canto-HK style dimsum. But Taiwan pasar malam supper is very good. Good range of variety and very delicious. Canto-HK pasar malam supper no fight.

lianbeng agrees with ramseth, "when in taiwan die die also must go and chiong their night market aka pasar malam - plenty of savoury good food from 1st stall to the end very long one at least 3 streets long. go for their 卤肉饭、蚵仔煎、猪脚面线、臭豆腐、etc...":D 赞!
