Minion Viv to Fat Cat PUB: A flood is a flood, idiots by Yahoo! Newsroom

The fat cat Nationalised Utilities Board's (NUB) usage of the word "ponding" to fool stupid peasants regarding true nature of flooding at Liat Towers was a masterpiece stroke of goondu thinking, said Minion of Environment and Water Resources Dr. Half Breed Viv on Monday.

Speaking in Parliament, after his demotion for overspending for YOG, the ambitious Minion said: “As far as I am concerned, while I recently label my political opponents as bapoks but fat cats in NUB should not have used the word ‘ponding’. A flood is a flood after netizens and Liat Tower merchants cry father, cry mother.”

“As long as there's water accumulating somewhere where it's not supposed to be, as long as it has implications on human safety, business operations, that is a flood, and now our gabra-prone neighbors and anglo saxons, especially the Dutch are laughing at us. They are saying Old Autocrat is dying, the monkeys are now playing.... ,” he said.

On 23 December 2011, heavy rains caused flooding in various parts of Orchard Road, including the open area in front of Liat Towers. The underpass between Lucky Plaza and Ngee Ann City and the basement of Lucky Plaza were similarly affected.

In response to the incident, the PUB, led by well paid Cambridge trained ex-Admiral Chew, another military paper tiger, stated that “there was no flooding at Orchard Road”, but that water had “ponded” at Liat Towers and other low-lying locations.

Lowly ranked NTU peasant student Xue JY sells curry with the Minion, saying he “did the right thing (of course, any lowly paid goondu will reach the same conclusions)”.

“It’s a small problem out there and the Imperial Court (朝廷) has no need to be honest about it and not worry about public image,” said the 24-year-old North Korean trained peasant. “I think local peasants are very realistic and pragmatic following the Chinese way of doing things. If a problem is real they can take some inconvenience and wait long-long for it to be solved and not cry father and cry mother like South Koreans.”

However, more rebellious peasants feel that more should be done to alleviate the problem, with the idiot who suggested 'ponding' to be beaten with hot lettuce.

Said peasant girl Jean Chia, 28, a teacher: “The issue should be the choice of word the PUB used and what is being done to solve the problem.”

Similarly, Xie Ying, 23, a peasant data analyst, is more concerned whether more price/tax hikes are in place to prevent another incident of flooding.

“People don’t care what word you use. They care more when stupid phrases are use and what fat cats are not doing,” she said.

PUB, licking it wounds after playing language games with peasants and Liat Tower merchants is currently looking at more ways to increase the capacity of Stamford Canal, where excess water from Liat Towers is drained to.

According to the agency, the canal’s capacity would have to be increased by at least a third using cheap banglas.

It has invested $2 billion over the past 30 years to but its top officials love to moonlight as kitchen helps in European restaurants.

Half Breed Viv observed in Imperial Court session that increasing rainfall and urbanization are making flood prevention efforts more difficult. It is better to blame nature. As such, greater collaboration between 'jiat leow bee'ministries is needed. This old tactic is called sharing the hot potato.

Example of fat cat PUB "See no evil, do no evil stance'
In June last year, 124mm rain fell over four hours in Orchard Road, causing the Tanglin area to be flooded by 100mm.

Last month, over three hours of rain caused water levels to rise as high as 153mm.

Liat Towers merchants has lan-lan since built a 60-cm brick wall lining the side and back of the building in the latest preventive measure to protect its properties and shops from future flooding.
