i know of one Malay chap that not only eat Roast Pork. he ate it during Fasting month. say it tasted damn good some more

Some foods should proudly and steadfastly remain non-halal. Char kway teow is one of them.

what gives bak kut teh its real taste are the herbs and spices. now there are many beef version bak kut teh available especially in Melaka which tastes more peppery and received very positive feedback on food rating websites/blogs.

bak kut teh without pork is a minor loss, bak kut teh without the spices is a total loss.
many great cuisines can retain its taste even changed to pork but bak kut teh loses its flavor when changed to other meat?
sounds like a failure to me.
