A photo shared by Khaosod appeared to show Zheng with officials around him, along with an individual wearing a blue vest emblazoned with a Chinese flag and the words, "airport interpreter". Thai police explained that Zheng had incorrectly placed his passport on the reader, which caused the gates to fail to open.According to Khaosod, the Chinese national has been entered into the Thai immigration blacklist and is banned from entering Thailand for life.He must also pay a compensation of 450,000 baht (S$17,705) for the damaged auto-gate.Additionally, Zheng is also being charged with property damage as well as verbally abusing an official on duty.

Zheng's English must be extremely limited since a Chinese interpreter was needed onsite. It is going to be an expensive vacation for Zheng for not only damaging the e-gate, resisting arrest and verbally abusing an airport official
