A cabby says he was beaten up by three youths after a jaywalking dispute along Coleman Street, leaving him with a bruised eye.

"After church service at Wesley Church at about 1pm today (Sep 16), my wife and I decided to have lunch at the Peninsula area.
"When we arrived at Peninsula, Colman Street., these three dark-skinned young punks tried to jaywalk across Colman Street.
"But one of them was unable to cross due to my slow-moving taxi. I was blocking his way.
"Angry with me, he banged on my right side door mirror causing it to flip forward.
"I wind down my window to adjust the mirror and at the same time asked him what he wanted?
"He began to challenge me for a fight.
"I must be crazy, as my wife was with me and I am a 60-plus old man to respond to fight with three energetic young men.
"I kept on driving turning my car into side road behind the Plaza.
"Dissatisfied, the other two in the middle of the road crossed the road again to join the one by the roadside following my car. They continued to provoke me by kicking the back of my car.
"I pulled my car to the side. Before I fully stop, one of the guy caught up, pulled open my driver's side door, stretching his right hand out to unbuckle my safety belt.
"I pushed his hand away and he started to punch me on my left eye continuously.
"At this moment the other gang partner also caught up and joined in the assault until they saw my face bleeding. They then stopped and left, shouting 'I will see what the f...ing police can do for you.'
"I got out of my taxi, I saw all the people around enjoying the free show but nobody tried to stop the three guys from leaving the scene, including the doorman standing at the Grand Parks City Hall hotel front entrance.
"I called the Police and the ambulance arrived, ferrying me to Singapore General Hospital for treatment."
