A CitiCab driver, Sebastian Leo, lodged a police report yesterday (26 Dec), alleging that he was attacked by a group of “Indian guys” on Christmas Day at about 5.30am.

In the report, he stated that he was driving his taxi along Havelock Road. Upon reaching the T-Junction of Magazine Road, he was stopped by a group of “7-8 Indian guys”. Some then tried to board the taxi but the rear passenger doors were locked.

Mr Leo then wound down his window to inform them that he can’t pick up passengers at a junction. Also, he told them that he was about to change shift.

The group ignored him and continued trying to open the rear door. Frustrated, they began to kick the taxi and asked Mr Leo to get out.

Mr Leo tried to move his taxi but one of the guys was holding on to the taxi front window. Mr Leo then told them that he couldn’t take them. At this point, one of the guys grabbed Mr Leo at his neck and punched him in his face. The rest went berserk and started to throw things at the taxi. All the windows of the taxi were smashed, according to Mr Leo.

Mr Leo managed to drive off to the Ministry of Manpower building where he called the police. The whole incident lasted some 5 minutes.

It is not known if the alleged attackers are Singaporeans or foreigners.
According to the media, the police confirmed the assault.

The police say they are investigating a case involving a taxi driver who claimed he was assaulted by “a group of men” on the morning of the 25th near Magazine Road.

The injured Mr Leo was later sent to Singapore General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Attorney-General’s Chambers is charging 4 of the 25 Indian foreign workers purportedly involved in the Little India riot with additional charges.

The 4 Indian nationals facing additional charges are:Arumugam Karthik, 24 – said to have flipped over a police car and set fire to a police vehicle

  • Chinnappa Prabakaran, 23 – said to have set fire to an ambulance
  • Bose Prabakar, 29 – said to have assaulted a police officer
  • Moorthy Kabildev, 24 – said to have punched the bus timekeeper
The prosecution tendered the additional charges in court this afternoon (27 Dec).

beri gooooood! balless stinkees dio hoot! song arh! this chee bye kia is a pappies supporter. no sympathies. only taxi drivers sarport pappies cos they think pappies give them chance to be 'own bosses'.

Reading the report, I am relieved that some police officers are able to comprehend and use words like "rally".

Taxi driver should have just run the red light if he sensed something was wrong and didn't want to pick this group up. Can't understand why he rolled his window down to talk to them. Obviously, most SGreans have never experienced the terror of carjacking that happens frequently beyond SG's borders. Not to worry, the foreigners are bringing this experience to SGreans without them having to step out of their "safe" country.

Not true. I think it's more like 50-50: half of them likes the PAP, the other half bitterly hates the PAP.

Most cabbies are anti-establishment.

No hope of poodles catching anyone. Blame it on bad luck.

Driving taxis can be hazardous with the number of psychos nowadays.

In the not so distant future, there will be gang-rape (modified) Delhi-style in Sinkieland. Only difference is gang-rapes by Ah Nehs will take place in taxis rather than in buses.

Thanks to Ah Neh for exposing the flaws in PAP policies.
Hopefully PRCs and Pinoys could join hands and jolt the scums in white out of their dreamland.
