1. GRC Scheme Unconstitutional

- Supposed there are 5 SMCs with 100 voters each. It is 1 vote out of 100 for 1 candidate
- Supposed the 5 SMCs combined to form 1 GRC. It is 1 vote out of 500 for 5 candidates
A voter is still given 1 voting slip. It is one-man-one-vote in every sense.
2. Coat-tailing in GRC
It works both ways, for Opposition as well as PAP.
3. Deposits are a hindrance in a GRC
6 candidates in a GRC is $90,000
6 candidates in 6 SMCs is $90,000
$15,000 per candidate is unchanged
4. CRM
There are only 13% Malays in Singapore. Even less for Indians and Others. So it will end up as the majority race choosing the minority candidate in a CRM, unless there are enclaves. When you buy a laptop (or vote in a GRC), all the components are pre-configured. You choose between the different brands (parties). You choose how the different parties treat the race issue.
