Which is it?

Let's do the math.

1400 +ve for Covid19. Assuming those ambulances keeps at it 24/7 and daily can pickup 1 patient/2hours.

Each ambulance can pickup 12 patients a day. How many ambulances do we need then? Its 1400 divided by 12 = 116. Does SCDF have 116 ambulances? Don't think so.

If we rope in all private ambulances, do we get a total of 116 ambulances? Maybe. But key is we do not have manpower to run those ambulances 24/7. Humans need a break, get sick,get rest days. The ambulances themselves breakdown and need maintenance. Plus private ambulances will cost the govt a bomb!

Thus the smart solution. I pity those PHV drivers doing it. They are just a virus away.
