Govt taking interventionist stance on consumer spending

The fact remains that the average Sinkie is an idiot and it is for this reason that the PAP is forced to assume the "nanny" role out of necessity.

It is these morons that forced the govt to change the rules on CPF withdrawals. In the good old days, you were handed all of it in one lump sum upon turning 55. We all know what happened next. The simple minded descendants of Southern Chinese peasants blew the whole lot on whores and gambling in less than 6 months and ended up destitute.

Singaporeans deserve the nanny PAP. What they don't need is more liberty and more freedom. What they DO need is another nanny from hell in the form of a cloned 35 year old LKY. He'll sort things out in no time at all.

After they FIXED the CPF they :

1) allow 2 casinos and

2) closed both eyes when foreign whores poured in!

Wonderful way to get the Sinkie peasants to extinction or more precisely to 'FIX THEM"! LOL

The casinos and whores aren't for sinkies. They're there to attract foreigners to spend money in the country.

Nobody is forcing sinkies to fuck whores or visit casinos. They do that out of their own free will and as long as they can't use their CPF money, it's up to them if they decide they want to catch STDs and throw their money down the drain.

These 2 measures, along with the earlier announced property cooling measure that limits the size of home loans according to the buyer’s income, show that the state is increasingly taking an interventionist stance in managing spending on the big ticket items of housing, cars and retirement. This is a major change in the PAP’s mindset, because the PAP had traditionally advoacated a political philosophy of personal responsibility. Citizens were expected to work hard, spend prudently, and save up a nest’s egg to take care of their parents and children. But now it appears the MIW have decided that Singaporeans cannot be trusted to spend money prudently.

You are confused. The new policies on cars are targeted at excessive car loans, i.e. control people from spending money that they don't have. I see nothing wrong with preventing people from spending too much borrowed money.

So Singapore is a nanny state and the Government wants to be the nanny. But a good nanny needs to have big, solid boobs. But our present government is too much like an airport runway.

According to a current survey, American consumer spending is down this year. That is a direct result of the payroll tax break expiring at the start of the year, and it may slow the delicate economic recovery rate. According to the Tax Policy Center, the expiration of those paycheck tax cuts will cost the typical American worker about $700 in 2013. You may need a "Use payday loans to make money" to pay for your expenses.

Simple supply and demand theory will point out to anyone the shortage of housing and majority of the “Singaporean dream” of owning a home will eventually will something of a dream only. Of course prices will escalate exponentially beyond the attainability of the Singaporeans as if government does not know already.

Singapore is unique. It is small. It has its limitation.
