Govt keep saying that bringing more FT will make SG successful and create more jobs for Singapore ..... is that really the case? Are Singaporeans having more jobs now?
Yes, we probably need the blue collar bangadash to swip the floor and clear the rubbish ... and not many singaporeans want to do the dirty jobs.
But there are some many white collar FT in Singapore .... the question is do we really need so many white collar FTs in Singapore?
Yes, Singapore has an aging population and it will be a tough problem in time to come .... so the easy way out it is to import more FTs.
But the root cause of aging population is becos it is so difficult for Singaporeans to get a decent job nowadays and individual purchasing power has decreased. Men above 40 years old are too expensive to be employed, unless they are willing to 'retrain' and receive a pay cut. Without any assurance of stability, how can we afford to have more babies?
