ELD apologises for long wait, does away with requirement for voters to wear gloves

The Elections Department says it did away with the requirement to wear disposable gloves after more voters turned up outside their assigned time bands than expected, leading to long waiting times.

"We did away with the requirement to don disposable gloves as voters would already be required to sanitise their hands. We observed that this step in particular contributed to the longer than usual voting times. Gloves are still available for voters who would like to use both sanitiser and gloves," says ELD.

"We are sorry for the wait and inconvenience to voters."

I just voted, no wonder I wasn't given any gloves. Just told to DIY squirt some hand sanitizer (smelled like watermelon scent) on my palms before fucking off from the polling station. :frown:
