SINGAPORE - Former National Solidarity Party (NSP) chief Mr Goh Meng Seng has pledged to sell his backside to fund a 3 cornered contest in Hougang SMC, sources revealed Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Goh, who contested in the general elections in 2006 and 2011, told reporters that Hougang residents deserve a third choice given that the Worker's Party had failed Hougang residents by fielding a philanderer in the ward.
"The residents (of Hougang) should not have to put up with the poor candidate selection process by WP," Mr Goh said. "They deserve to have the chance to vote for an independent candidate who can better look after their interests."
Mr Goh came up with this idea when he realized that many netizens badly wanted to "screw him". He immediately saw an income opportunity in this.
According to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, the independent candidate who will contest in the upcoming Hougang by-election is former Presidential hopeful Mr Tan Jee Say.
Mr Tan scored 25% of the vote in the 2011 Presidential race.
When Mr Goh was asked why Mr Tan Jee Say was not selling backside himself, Mr Goh gave a flirtatious wink to our reporter, and cooed, "I'm younger!"
