Its the battery problem. Plus electronics. I am not sure about tesla but volvos are the earliest of legacy brands to go electric.

LTA buy many electric buses for fuck, harder to maintain and breakdown easily
Actually its less costly to maintain due to less moving parts.
Electric motors will never break down, no need for oil change so no need for regular servicing.
Batteries can last for decades. Only problem is its ability to store energy will degrade over time. By tenth year, it can store only 80% of its original designed capacity.
Only problem with battery buses is the operating range.can it operate entire day with say just one cor two charges?
