Barbecue nuisance in HDB flats

<!-- by line --><!-- end by line -->

MY NEIGHBOURS hail from a different country and bring with them different cultural and social habits.
One of these habits is to barbecue their food every evening on their balcony. The smoky, oily vapour pollutes the air. Smoke can be seen wafting up into the living areas of those living on the upper floors.
It gets really annoying when laundry has to be re-washed and we have to put up with the lingering smell of food and oil in the curtains and rooms for days.
I wonder if the National Environment Agency has any guidelines regarding the barbecuing of food on open balconies of flats.
Linda Zhang (Ms)

Linda Zhang if you not happy !

Then come this 7 th month you can burn hell money at your balcony .

maybe you should fried salted fish and balachan at your balcony

Sometimes the best way to deal with inconsiderate behaviour, is to do something that you know will annoy them.
When he complains, it's time to negotiate and come to a compromise.

Linda is living on the upper floor. I know. Pee on them.

aiyah...
just quietly call ur NPP -neighbourhood police post- lor why so worked up?
the other time there was a bunch of young punks "lianbeng huayseng" at my void deck making so much noise i just quietly went downstairs n called 999 coz i dunnoe my NPP number mah.
after that i leisurely got into lift n went up to my house.
within 10min 2 patrol cars came in n took them away lor.
heard 1 of the ahbeng shouting: "kanninabeh! who call police?"

I have just one question, have she actually tried going downstairs and talk to them?

I don't know about most pple but I find the most effective way to resolve issues is to talk to the other party first and only get a 3rd party involved in U cannot resolve the issue betweent he 2

Err not sure if she is aware with HDB rules and regulations about what you can do / cannot do at the balcony. I found out when I wanted my contractor to make a mini BBQ pit at my balcony and he told me HDB does not approve it and aske me to read up the rules and regulations.
