Lianhe Wanbao - 1 day 17 hrs 7 mins ago
Man complains of stomachache and dies minutes later. A 30 cm worm crawls out from his mouth shortly after.
A man who collapsed after complaining about a stomachache, died less than 10 minutes after being admitted into a hospital emergency room. To add to the horror, a 30-centimeter long worm crawled out of his mouth shortly after his death.
The deceased was an unmarried 26-year-old Bangladeshi man named Sohal Chokdar Bazlu, who was a carpenter. He was also responsible for a project in the pathological department of the Singapore General Hospital.
His colleague Farhad (25) revealed this morning that the deceased was suffering from headaches a month ago, but got better after seeking medical treatment and taking medicine.
However Bazlu said he felt dizzy while waiting for the company bus last night at around 7pm. He later collapsed and friends sent him to Gleneagles Hospital, where he was given two days of sick leave and painkillers.
Farhad said Bazlu was supposed to return to Gleneagles for a checkup this morning but started experiencing a stomachache at 3pm yesterday. Two colleagues sent him to Gleneagles Hospital, but he fainted along the way. He passed away within 10 minutes of being admitted into the emergency room.
Farhad said doctors later told him that a 30 cm long, brown worm climbed out of the deceased’s mouth shortly after he took his last breath. A photo was taken as evidence. Up till recently, Bazlu had been healthy and it’s not known how the worm got inside him and why he started getting sick. The doctor, a 20-year veteran, says he has never heard of anyone dying from having a worm in their body.
