PETALING JAYA: The 23-year-old friend of cosplay fan Ng Yuk Tim has been charged with her murder at a magistrate’s court here.

Poon Wai Hong, who was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code – which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction – showed no emotion when this was read to him. Wearing a white T-shirt, the building maintenance worker was barefooted when he was brought into the court room.

Poon was accused of murdering the 15-year-old girl at a house in Jalan PJU 1/4F, Kampung Cempaka in Kelana Jaya between 3pm and 4pm on Oct 21.

No plea was recorded and no bail was granted.
