My point is, if the family really want to get together they can arrange it anytime of year. Why the need to specify a day in a year and cause a mad rush, jacked up food prices and untold inconvenience to everyone?

It is a primitive and retarded idea that somehow ballooned into the tradition it is today. Thanksgiving and Christmas included.
