A human desire for perfection? RP was born when some people felt it could straddle between the more mild WP and confrontational SDP. We know the rest is history.
It seems some people have the same view about the SFP now, though WP and SDP have moved closer to each other (in the sense that WP is less mild and SDP less wild).
I believe SFP can play a role not pointed out by any forummer yet. TJS is rather "approachable" and can talk the non-WP parties into avoiding a 3CF with one another.
