SINGAPORE: Former NTUC Income chief Mr Tan Kin Lian has sent his personal friend Mr Png Eng Huat to collect the forms for the certificate of eligibility for the Presidential Election.

Mr Png, who is the deputy webmaster of the Workers' Party, told reporters Friday morning that Mr Tan was not free to collect the forms.

He added that Mr Tan has not decided if he will stand for election.

Mr Tan retired from NTUC Income in 2007, after heading the cooperative for 30 years.

He now runs a consultancy company.

Former People's Action Party Member of Parliament Dr Tan Cheng Bock collected his forms on Wednesday, saying he is serious about contesting the Presidential Election.

Former minister for foreign affairs Mr George Yeo said he is thinking hard about contesting.

The first person to pick up the forms on Wednesday was 70-year-old Mr Ooi Boon Ewe.

Mr Ooi, who is currently self-employed, failed in his bid to contest the recent General Election as an independent candidate.

Is he associated with the Workers' Party or NSP. Sources said he did make a speech as a guest speaker for the NSP rally. Anyway he will be the the favourite among people who voted for the Alternative Parties.
