Whats wrong with these people? We welcome them to work in our country( some even hold high end jobs ), let them have a place in our top schools, some even sponsor by our goverment to study free and yet they turn around curse us and wish us ill. Why is our goverment welcoming them with open arms? What have we or our goverment done that make them so angry with us? It must be something really awful as in their own country their daughters, mothers or sisters were raped and murdered and their homes were bombed and yet they do not wish such ill onto their own country don't you think so? Some have said that we are racist against them but what about their caste system isn't it much worst? Actually, there is nothing wrong with the SG flag. It's just that PAP had abused our trust and made a mockery of the aspirations embodied in our country's flag (democracy, justice, etc).

May I suggest that instead of abusing our country's flag, we should abuse the flag of this ungrateful political party. In Hong Kong, I will start with using the PAP flag as a doormat. Wipe all the m&d, dust, dirt, etc off my shoes before going into my house. Singaporeans in SG can do that too. It is illegal to abuse the country's flag, but it is not to abuse that of a hypocritical political party that has failed to keep its promises.

How about having the PAP logo printed on those tissue papers that we use to wipe our mouths and blow our noses? Shall we call for a tender to find a reliable manufacturer to mass produce those tissue papers? Toilet rolls anybody? Gives new meaning to the phrase pang sai chuah.

I get your point, but I see a flag as nothing more than a symbol, and I leave the symbols for the symbol-minded.

Ergo, if I see someone burning a Singapore flag, there will not be an ounce of patriotic indignation, nor will I inform the police etc. I have better things to do.

Simply put, I am not a very patriotic person. In fact, I find all the ritualistic outpouring of love for a non-living entity (country) on every August 9th to be very creepy.
