Extracts from Asiaone -
Smoking in MRT train where smoking is prohibited looks like a case of misdemeanour but in reality, from the facial expression of these 2 ah nehs, the act represents defiance, kind of "so what if we smoke?" and "what can you do?".
Has the rioting in India made these ah nehs see the pappies as weakling? Likely. They seem to say,
what can you do, catch me if you can.
Are these ah nehs out to flex their muscles to look down on sinaporans? Certainly. No local in his right mind would light up in MRT train.
When the pappies do not take punitive action to kick out FT for offences committed in the country, the pappies are encouraging them to feel they are above the laws. Imposing fines on these FTs is not a deterrent, kick them out and all the others will learn to be law abiding.
If sinaporans do not care about and feel for their country, who will?
What will smrt do besides reporting to SPF?
