food from China

this is already not the first time that it happen.
those people in PRC will do almost anything to make profits. :mad:

do they even care about human lives? i'm boycotting all processed food products from China. :mad:
The love of money is the root of all evil. Some of these people have no regard for human life, as long as they make money.
In the past, we may have thought that they were careless, unprofessional, lazy, incompetent.
Not anymore. These people are evil. :(

in light of these unfortunate events, i'll strictly adhere to this measure: i'm avoiding all processed food products directly or indirectly produced by PRC China. let's help protect our family and loved ones, expose these unscrupulous diabolic beasts who holds no values and ethics within them 'cept to enrich themselves! expose them all! :mad:

if the PRC is involved in most, if not all, food processing companies, i'll go only for organic and natural produce only. processed food products like milk and biscuits or whatnot can kiss goodbye from my edible food list.

i value the health of my family and loved ones. i hope you folks do too. i'll eat only fish and poultry, fruits and vegetables from our neighboring countries, e.g. Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. meat and wine from Australia, New Zealand and the European countries :p

Bro, we should label those food as "CHINA-FREE food products" I wonder your sinkie govt will dare to do that.

Every business wants to make profit.

The problem is fucking PRC people only wants to make fast buck.

They only care about earning your money today. What happens tomorrow doesn't matter.

That's what 50 years of communism and centrally planned economy does to you.

"I immediately knew there was something wrong. I thought it was entirely strange when I went to ye olde Chinese supermarket in Richmond Hill after dim sum with dad to pick up some Chinese groceries, including that old instant-noodle staple, Dau Si Laing Yiu. They said they were out, and I was like, what the fuck??? They used to have thousands upon thousands of cans in these huge banks the size of Kansas on the floor of every Chinese supermarket in the nation. Dau si laing yiu was to the Chinese what bully beef was to British soldiers during World War I, when cans were so plentiful they used them to line the floors of trenches in defense against the Kaiser. Take that, Jerry! God save the Queen!

Then a friend of mine gave me an old rice cooker of hers (which I've been using a lot - I've never owned one before. And me at age 35! what a banana I am.) so I went to buy rice and some dau si laing yiu at a downtown Chinese supermarket. And they were also out. It was then I realized that there was some sort of catastrophic worldwide shortage, which a google quickly confirmed. Apparently, the Chinese-HK uber-authorities found some sort of cancer causing preservative called "malachite green" in substantial-yet-not-quite-harmful amounts and banned the stuff. Jesus. A big "fuck off" to the uber-authorities - I mean, what doesn't cause cancer these days? Too bad I didn't hoard when I could have.

And so, an era has ended, my friends; I'm going to miss this salty and greasy little treat with my goong jei meen. As will many other students, or grown men still living a student lifestyle."

these are favourites especially to the older generations.

A year ago when I advocated that we should avoid processed foods from China, I was bombarded by a number of forummers.

I happened to visit a number of food factories in China and after what I saw, I swore that I would avoid all processed foods from China.

please share what you saw, you took pictures?

I think the following will hurt but must be done. At the personal level:
- BOYCOTT ALL CHINA FOOD PRODUCTS WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE TAINTED;
- demand that the PAPzi government send a protest note to China demanding answers as to why their food standards are so lax, and
- warning them of a total ban on all China food products until they show credible signs of improvements;
- commemorate the 1 Oct 08 as the day the boycott begins and remind everyone every year of the shoddiness of China products.

This will ensure the China companies are kept on their toes and that we would not again become complacent. I recently asked (jokingly) an Austrian winemaker what brand of anti-freeze they put in their wines now. He was neither angry nor taken aback. He simply said, 'the anti-freeze episode happened in the early 1980s and the Austrian wine industry is now one of the strictest in the world but very he keeps getting ribbed about it, and the industry has not yet quite recovered.'

Let's do the same with China foods.
