22 Apr - Flora Chan sets tongue wagging when she was revealed to have been living a luxurious life despite her husband's bankruptcy.
As reported on HK Channel, the actress, who had to be the sole breadwinner for her family since husband Mike Chung's business went under in 2012, revealed recently that she has no financial problem and was able to buy a Mercedes Benz priced at HKD470,000 (approximately USD60,645) earlier this year.
Flora also revealed that she pays a monthly rental of HKD80,000 (USD10,322) for her house in Shouson Hill.
However, the lifestyle is possible despite Mike's bankruptcy, said lawyer Vitus Leung.
"A husband's bankruptcy will not affect the wife if they are financially independent. There is no problem even if the husband doesn't work and continue to use his wife's money."
Meanwhile, rumours are rife that TVB has no intention to renew Flora's contract after the conclusion of her upcoming series, "Good Morning, Boss!".
