First it was the high profile CNB director Ng Boon Gay. Then followed by SCDF Commissioner (Director) and now CPIB asst director.

Within a short period of 24 months or lesser, 3 senior officers from the govt agencies have been charged for either sex or money corruption. The ever arrogant CPIB motto is "swift and sure" but it took them 4 years to uncover a scam.

Ya, asst director might be low ranking in the ministry but consider high in their own agency or dept.

Many factors will come into consideration. I recall one SPH very senior chap escaping jail term coz he came forward before detection. A warning, seldom though, can always be given by CPIB so case will not see daylight in Sub Court. Jail term almost 100% certain for civil servants. Ditto those who are involved with these civil servants. Many escaped jail term but you are referring to members of public in the corporate world.

There are three scenarios possible. Once investigation is done, after earlier 'probes', a subject under investigation can be 100% 'clean.' No corruption involved. There are those who can also be 100% involved in PCA offences. My interest is, what happens to those 50-50 or in the 'grey' area? Are they charged for them to exonerate themselves in court, given a reprimand, posted out to another ministry etc. Thse case, if not charged in court, will not see daylight. Neither will they be scrutinised.

To some ppl, it's all in a day work to others it's shake the tree and the monkey will also fall onto his head.

So will not just 'party along'.

Afterall, the difference to some of these ppl is, which side of the party they are at and who they are dancing with! LOL
