Fire breaks out at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre on Jan. 2

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that it was alerted to a fire at 531A Upper Cross Street at about 12:40pm.

The fire involved the kitchen exhaust ducting (KED) on the 2nd floor of the affected block. SCDF extinguished the fire using three water jets.

Four people were evacuated by SCDF from the affected block as a precautionary measure.

No injuries were reported and the cause of fire is under investigation.
