Local healthcare staff will be getting 15% wage increase by year end as pushed by Healthcare Cluster Tripartite Workgroup as headed by Patrick Tay from NTUC. They're also implementing the Progressive Wage Model to elevate the pay as well as give career progression for the workers!

Finally they are getting the salary that they deserve. It's not easy cleaning after people's poop and hygiene working in the hospital. Salute to nurses and healthcare workers!

5,000 local healthcare staff to get 15% wage increase by end 2014

SINGAPORE — Around 5,000 local healthcare support staff will have received about 15 per cent increase in wages by the end of this year, said Mr Patrick Tay, NTUC Assistant Secretary-General at the National Day Observance Ceremony hosted by National University Health System today (Aug 15).

This improvement came after efforts made by the Healthcare Cluster Tripartite Workgroup to enhance employability and salaries of lower-wage healthcare support staff, namely Health Attendants, Healthcare Assistants and Patient Service Associates, focusing on 3 UPs: Up Skills, Up Career Progression and Up Productivity.

Various ladders of the Progressive Wage Model have also been implemented by the Workgroup since its launch in 2012, to encourage productivity initiatives across the public health sector through sharing and diffusion of best practices.

Piloted projects such as the Pharmacy Stock Receiving System — the use of a personal handheld device to receive, pack and distribute drugs — by the National University Hospital and other facilities, have also seen some form of “mass adoption” across the clusters.

“Although we have reached our target, I would like to urge all healthcare management and staff alike to actively seek opportunities to do more and to spread good initiatives across all healthcare clusters so that all can benefit,” said Mr Tay.

please lah, just a 15% increase talk like as though all of them are given welfare, free medical and unemployment benefits.

So when are these bastards going to increase medical healthcare costs? Yesterday?

nurses are most sought after in aussieland, good for immigration purpose.

15% pay increase is a lot of money. It's usually the amount people actually negotiate when they apply for new job.

Nurses deserve it. Not easy to handle the sick and aged. Can be traumatic too.

If not for Roy the poster boy n model nurse for ttsh they would b stuck with commendation only.

sinkies are fussy wussy and a high maintenance lot. in the u.s., we call that a man bitch. for example, there's already one moniker here asking for special fixes every other day from the forum host. ;)

There are actually two, both monikers start with the letter s. :D
