An accident on Monday morning involving a lorry, two cars
and one motorbike left a motorcyclist dead and caused a
major traffic jam on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). -- ST PHOTO
A MOTORCYCIST died on Monday following a collision which also
involved two cars on the west-bound Pan Island Expressway.
The 29-year-old rider was flung from his bike, hit by a lorry
and pinned under its right rear-wheel.
The accident, which happened at around 7am just before the
Eng Neo Avenue exit, led to three out of the expressway's four
lanes to be closed to traffic, causing a 20-km jam that took four
hours to clear. Cars travelling in the direction of Tuas were snarled
from Eng Neo all the way to Simei.
