Believe it or not? Even established footballing nations like England have been represented by players born in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Jamaica, Nigeria, France, South Africa, Scotland, Wales and yes, even S'pore! Former England captain, Terry Butcher was born in the Lion City. FAS must scout for professional footballers overseas who qualify to represent the Lions. Under FIFA rules, a footballer may represent the country of one of his parents or grandparents without changing his citizenship. He is also eligible to play for a country if he has represented a club in their domestic league for at least 5 years.
