He masterminded the mass rebellion inside WP against late JBJ, and later led more than 20 WP members in mass Defection to SDP's Chiam side, later he masterminded yet another mass rebellion inside SDP to oust Chiam from SDP. He is the partial reason behind late JBJ leaving WP, causing fued between JBJ n LTK.

There was a lot of issues he caused inside the SDP even after Chiam got expelled, he was the main factor of lots of internal disputes, fightints and good people leaving both WP and SDP.

Late JBJ formed RP with Mr Ng Teck Siong, JBJ left WP due to Wong Hong Toy, Ng Teck Siong left SDP also due to Wong Hong Toy. There are others who joined NSP and SPP.

PAP and LKY ought to give Wong Hong Toy the highest honor political award, make him BBM Datok or Duke, with deepest appreciation. LHL n GCT also must Thank Wong Hong Toy very much.

The fight was violent inside SDP during ouster of Chiam, one SDP MP, Cheo Chai Chen (now NSP candidate) was beaten on his head by Leng Kum Chui, caused several stitches to his head, and PAP court sentenced Leng Kum Chu to almost a year imprisonment for whacking Member of Parliament. Leng was the guy who had been seen always carrying Chiam on his shoulder after Potong Pasir vote count announcements. He much later was involved in another fighting unrelated to political parties, got charged, JBJ (already formed RP) was defending his case in court, and suddenly JBJ suffered heart attacked past away before that case was closed. It was one of late JBJ's pending cases when he past on.

Oh talking about this interesting character.

Here are some titbits:

1. From 1963 onwards, he has fought in every election to 2006. 43 years in total. What kept him going? The sixties and seventies were prominent periods of arbitrary arrests of opposition figures and this was one brave fellow WHT to brave it through. If you look at arrest records by ISD in seventies, normal Singaporeans can just be called up and be arrested as well.

2. Already expounded and known were the facts he was a player in the problems of WP and SDP. Also needed to include here he was one of the first known partners of CSJ's naive entry into confontational politics in 1999 as though they were freedom fighters here. Yes, he was imprisoned for those efforts. Later, his role was taken up by somebody else as CSJ continued in these protests. Hence for 3 opposition parties and leading figures, he was involved.

3. He was stuck with Ling, Cheo etc who were nobodies without SDP, and struggled mightily soonafter. Ling with this infamous "don't talk cock" remark in parliament will be forever remembered fondly. It typifies him and his ideological beliefs. WHT spoke very well in hokkien no doubt.

It would be great if he writes his experience. 43 years is longevity and this is some greatness. Isn't it?
