Exchange Rates for RM

It seems that money changer give better rates than banks since banks have higher overheads like huge CEOs pay package.

It depends. If the exchange rate fluctuates too quickly, banks follow the rates immediately but money changers take time(can be weeks) to follow.
So there can be instances where banks' rates are higher, or significantly lower depending on the direction of the sudden drastic change in exchange rate.

3 days back, changed at Bukit Indah at 2.56. Most of the shops at the round about only gave from 2.554 to 2.58.

Bedok central is 2.56 today while raffles only 2.55. Exchange rate should be better next week. Good chinese new year FD promotion with banks in jb. Heard maybank is selling bonds this few days with good returns.
