We, the people of Singapore (and China, and India and the West and so many other countries)

Pledge ourselves as one united people (of larger inequality)

Regardless of race, language or religion (Racial Harmony yes? No, more different races now)

To build a democratic society (of a one-party nation)

based on justice and equality (justice only if you wear white and white Gini coefficent more that 0.4. Pretty equal heh?)

So as to achieve happiness (who's happy? PAP or you?), propsperity (GDP with large inequality) and progress (or regress?) for our nation!

Nevermind inequality. Singapore's much vaunted GDP (nominal) is a mere US$43, 117 per capita. That's lower than 14 other countries in the world, most of which are big government spending welfare states.
