Elections Dept appoints logistics contractors to conduct site recce

02/09/2010

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s next General Election is not due till February 2012. But the country’s Elections Department has appointed its logistics contractors, ST Synthesis and SingTel, to carry out some site visits.

This is according to a note sent out by the Education Ministry’s School Administration Services to schools. The note says the Elections Department’s contractors will visit various Returning Officers’ centres and polling stations from 1 September.

The process is expected to take about a month. The tasks which the teams will carry out will include taking photographs of parade squares at the nomination centre to examine where the external Public Announcement system can be set up.

They will also look at the multi purpose halls to check out telephone points. For polling stations, the teams will check out the school canteens.

"ST Synthesis and SingTel, to carry out some site visits"

This means that taxpayers' money spent and becomes private companies' profit. From public funds to private companies' money. SICK!

What private companies, public listed , yes!, but is part of you know ahooooo..."members" have their privileges.

If this recee is conducted by other logistics or other Telco companies ( we don't even have one), than you can say public funds going to private companies.

Why do they need the Telco to do recee?....to install eaves dropping devices?

Almost every Sinkies are Singtel shareholders!

My bet is election will be after Feb already since the NSRA $$$ only in pocket after the date...

come end of the year, we will hear christmas carols that sing "ELECTION is coming to town"
