Elderly Chinese man attacks entire family, including newborn, with chopping blade and leaps to his death

A 64-year-old man from Beijing leapt to his death after reportedly slashing his wife, stepdaughter and two grandchildren, a local newspaper reports.
According to the Legal Evening News, the man from Daxing district lived with his family in a commercial housing estate in Penggezhuang town.
The tragedy took place on Saturday night, and small pools of blood and bloody footprints could still be seen inside the flat on Sunday morning.
A neighbour who was cooking around the time of the alleged attacks said she heard a loud bang outside the window. When she looked out, the man was lying on the ground.

Four people were carried out of the apartment by the police – the man’s 58-year-old wife whose shoulder was covered in blood, her 28-year-old daughter, a six-year-old girl and a boy who just turned one.
“Of the four, the little girl suffered the worst injury which is on her face. Police couldn’t wait for the ambulance to arrive and rushed the victims to hospital in police vehicles instead,” an unidentified neighbour was quoted as saying.
The injured are still being treated and remain in stable condition.
