Elderly man arrested for a series of fire cases

SINGAPORE - A 67-year-old man was arrested for suspected involvement in a series of mischief by fire cases in Yishun area.
8 cases of mischief by fire were reported in Yishun area from Jan 18 to Feb 12.
Officers spotted the man setting fire to discarded items at Block 137 Yishun Ring Road on Feb 14.
He was arrested and a disposable lighter was seized. Preliminary investigations showed that he is likely to be involved in more than 5 cases of fire committed around Yishun Ring Road.
He will be charged for the offence of Mischief by Fire and may be jailed for up to 7 years and fined.0000.
