I raise this up before and I better do it again before more people get killed or maimed in this madness. This stretch of road used to be straight but since the MBS came up and other developments, the road became a long trecherouse winding road...worse than the Great Ocean Road drive in Australia!! And people are doing 100+ km per hour when they need to make 50 degree turns....its madness. If LTA reading this, u better get off your ass and do something or one day someone or more than one will get killed and its all your fault. Dont blame it on speeding or driver carelessness..etc....its your stupid road design thats at fault.

You must be lying! Singapore's roads are world class and well-designed!

now, imagine every car in Singapore being a F1 race car...

It's alright, let a few stupid drivers kill themselves speeding on winding roads. Best if the driver killed be a FT with corrupted wealth.

usually i slow down to 60km per hour when i see a curve.

if you want your car to flip 180 like in some movie, you can accelerate to 140km per hour and abruptly swing your steering wheel to one direction.

and feel your car flip into the air for a few seconds duration and abruptly smash it to the ground.

then you will blackout for a moment and then in shocked!!

everybody should have the experience of a non fatal accident in order to feel the need to drive safely.

you will also understand the concepts of human frailty and cherish the importance of life.

The ECP/AYE around MBS is notorious for accidents. The stretch just after Keppel flyover towards Changi used to be even worse with all the road works going on but with all the twists and turns I can easily imagine a major pile up and/or fatalities happening soon.

What I don't understand is why can't the LTA build it straight (or straighter). Was it to facilitate Gardens by the Bay or the new Marina Coastal Expressway?

......best if the driver is a scion of a high-ranking MIW .......

tread carefully when you are driving that stretch of ECP. There were a few instances where the cars on the right suddenly cut into my lane because the drivers did not turn their steering wheel sufficiently to follow the absurd bend.

Blame the idiots who speed, it's not the roads fault.

Its a very poor design. ECP is an expressway and speed limit is 90. Doing 100 is normal. Can you imagine doing 100 and suddenly coming to such a turn? How can you blame people for speeding? Unless you are one of those who does 60 on the right lane.

The stretch of Zion Road outside Great World City is now turned into a winding road and the turns are even sharper. Wonder how many accidents or near-accidents happen everyday.

Gahment talk a lot about safety but when it comes to rectifying flaws or defects in the infrastructure design they very quiet. If shit happens, they blame the driver!!

truth be told, me would say we have a lot of kayu drivers out there. Gahmen should just have manual mode transmission mode cars on the road. those who cannot control the vehicles well shouldn't be behind the wheels :D:D:D

That will eliminate a large number of female drivers. That's sexist. ;)

In 2015 MCE will be open n benjamin sheares bridge will become an artery road.... thats was the plan.....

While the windy ecp at MBS one can do 100+km/h, straight ecp from benjamin sheares bridge got a 70km/h limit speed camera where almost all users will brake suddenly at end of downslope just before the camera, what is the logic here? By the same logic, all overhead vehicular bridge should be installed with speed camera then? Every now & then when you pass by ecp at MBS, you see wreaked centre divider indicating recent occured accident. Sheesh... our LTA & traffic police are still living in their la la land.

Don't boast, you've done that?

The main problems about this stretch of road:

1) The lanes are narrower than usual along this stretch. Not sure of the reason for doing this but I suspect it could be LTA squeezed in another lane to alllow more vehicles to flow through. This is possible in theory but in reality, it is too narrow (and therefore dangerous) to squeeze through, when there are vehicles in between.

2) There is a stretch of wall on the right, towards the direction of Changi, resulting in drivers moving nearer the left side of their lane and in the process, squeeze everyone else to the left too.

3) The maniac drivers of the concrete mixers, sand trucks and other heavy industrial vehicles bully the rest of the road users; these are the drivers who are paid by per trip. It is not uncommon to be overtaken by these 'industrial' drivers even when one is doing 70kph along this stretch.

4) At night, it is doubly dangerous - the lighting appears to be darker than other highways in Singapore and with the curves thrown in, it is very, very dangerous.

5) Finally, add in the dust generated by the industrial vehicles with their half-hearted attempts in covering their dusty loads, you have a very, very dangerous stretch of road.
