Some after scrutiny can be found to contradict the Quran.
Some after investigations found somewhere along the line their story doesn't match the time and place they say they were.
Some were found elsewhere to be lying.
The chain of narrators just passed along the stories. They don't do the fact check.
Just go to Pergas, and ask for a Hafiz. Of course they probably would not entertain you by reciting the whole Quran. It would probably take a couple of days to finish. But you can pick any random page, fire off a verse and tell them to continue. But to do that you must be able to read the Quran in the first place.

You do not know ancient Arab culture.
They recite stories, songs in entertainment hours and hours long. Some as long as a whole night! They do not have the luxury of books. They transfer those orally. It is no surprise many memorized the whole Quran, the first person being the prophet Muhammad.

Quran verses were memorized and most were written on parchments and compiled soon after the prophet's death from collective memory and those parchments.

About 100 years later many individuals collected this into a book. These individuals come from diverse geographical locations but somehow their narrations were found to be almost exactly the same.

Not all the companions are literate nor are all good memorizers.
Soon after the death of the prophet, the memorizers and those who kept the parchments came together to compile the Quran.
As they spread out into the arabian peninsula, they spread the Quran through memory as books were expensive.
Surprisingly just a few decades, Islam has spread to china, yet the verses there were exactly the same as in Medina.
You can say it's a miracle because Allah has promised it so.

Muslim scholars highly scientific hadith authencity methods depends heavily on a muslim's attitude towards prayer, fasting and zakat to determine if a transmitter is a liar or trustworthy. Zakir Naik passed all the test, so he is not a liar. You are a liar in saying he is a liar? I am confused!
